I’m Julie Katherine, the founder and creative director behind Julie K Events, and I believe the most unforgettable weddings are the ones that feel deeply personal, beautifully designed, and executed with ease.

My journey into event planning began in 2013 in the vibrant city of Dubai. Working as a flight attendant, I spent years traveling the world and experiencing cultures, design styles, and celebrations on a global scale. Dubai, in particular, shaped my mindset—its “anything is possible” mentality taught me to think without limits, push creative boundaries, and approach every project with bold confidence.

When I returned to Canada in 2017 and founded Julie K Events, I brought that same philosophy with me. At JKE, there is no such thing as “that can’t be done.” Instead, we focus on what can be created—and how to make it happen seamlessly.

One of my favourite projects that truly embodies this approach was a helicopter elopement off the coast of Halifax, where a couple took a private helicopter to a remote island to exchange vows. Bringing that level of creativity and experience-driven planning to Halifax allowed us to push boundaries within the local wedding community and redefine what weddings here could look like.

Based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where I was born and raised, Julie K Events has become known for elevated planning, thoughtful design, and highly personalized celebrations. In January 2026, I’m excited to expand the brand to Calgary, continuing to serve couples across Canada and abroad.

To further enhance the client experience, I also launched Travel Easy, a full-service travel agency that allows me to thoughtfully plan destination weddings, honeymoons, and guest travel with the same care and precision as our events. Together, my brands are built on creativity, intention, and the belief that planning should feel just as enjoyable as the celebration itself.
